Privacy Policy

Oceanograph is a dive computer and logbook for Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone. It is a product of Emouna LLC ("we," "us"), a United States limited liability company (emouna.com.mx). This policy is specific to the Oceanograph app and is consistent with the Emouna LLC privacy policy. The short version: your data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud. We run no servers that collect it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Data the app handles, and why

• Dive data (depth, time, temperature, computed decompression, profiles) — recorded on your Apple Watch and stored in the app on your devices.
• Apple Health data — with your permission, the app reads underwater-depth and water-temperature samples to reconstruct past dives, and optionally writes your dives back to Health as underwater-diving workouts. Health data is used only to show and log your dives. It is never transmitted to us or any third party and never used for advertising or data mining.
• Location — with your permission, used on-device to mark a dive's GPS entry/exit point, show your coordinates on the emergency screen so you can relay them to rescue, and warn you if you approach an airport while still within your post-dive no-fly window. It is not sent to us.
• Motion / water-submersion sensor — used to measure depth and pressure in real time during a dive.
• Certifications, gear, photos, instructor signatures, notes — whatever you add is stored in the app on your devices.
• Calendar (optional) — read only to check for flights inside your no-fly window; calendar contents are not stored or transmitted.
• Purchases — handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
• Diagnostics — if you opt in to sharing diagnostics with developers through Apple, Apple may share crash reports and basic device information (OS version, device model) with us to fix bugs. These contain no dive, health, or location data. We use no third-party analytics.

Where your data lives

On your device, and — if you enable iCloud — in your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database, synced by Apple between your devices. We operate no servers or backend that receive your dive, health, location, or account data. There is no Oceanograph account and no login.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not use your data for advertising; the app contains no ad SDKs.
• We do not track you across apps or websites, and include no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not use Apple Health data for any purpose other than showing and logging your dives, consistent with Apple's HealthKit requirements.

Your controls

Grant or revoke Health, Location, Motion, and Calendar permissions any time in the iOS or watchOS Settings app. Delete any item in the app, or delete the app to remove its on-device data; iCloud copies are managed through your Apple account.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because Oceanograph stores your data on your own devices and iCloud and we operate no servers that hold it, you can exercise most of these rights directly — delete items in the app, delete the app, or manage your iCloud data through your Apple account. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

• California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share your personal information and do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising; you have the right to know, delete, and correct.
• EEA / United Kingdom (GDPR): our lawful bases are performing the app's function and our legitimate interest in security and improvement; you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
• Switzerland (FADP) and Mexico: because Emouna LLC operates the emouna.com.mx domain, we also honor the ARCO rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, Opposition) under Mexico's Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP).

Children

Oceanograph is intended for certified adult divers and is not directed to children.

Changes

We will update this page and its effective date if this policy changes.
